AcroMax 2018: Final 7 AWT places up for grabs!

The Acro World Tour 2018 continues with the 3rd qualification stage being held August 11-15th in Italy’s AcroMax festival.

In the two previous stages - Norway’s ‘Vertigo Voss’ and the Italian ‘King of Brenta’ - international aerobatic paragliders took to the skies to show their incredible technical skills and impress the judges.

Seven pilots have already gained places to compete in the final of the Acro World Tour, to be held at the Sonchaux Airshow in Villeneuve (SUI) at the end of August.

A sky filled with colour at the LeaseWeb Texel Airshow 2018!

Thousands of people descended on Texel, the largest of the Wadden Islands in North Holland, the Netherlands, to attend the Leaseweb Texel Airshow 2018 this weekend.

Held on Saturday August 4, the colourful event sponsored by official FAI partner Leaseweb involved a diverse mix of contemporary, historical, military and civil aircraft hailing from the 1930s to the present day.

35th FAI World Gliding Championships, Ostrow Wielkopolski, Poland

Top Polish pilots defended their titles at the 35th FAI World Gliding Championships, held from 8-21 July 2018 in Ostrow Wielkopolski, Poland.

Honouring the Heli Heroes: HWC 2018 Final

A crowd of 40,000 fans were treated to thrilling displays of skilled manoeuvres as crews battled to win a place on the podium in the fourth and final stage of the Helicopter World Cup 2018.

After 3 stages of the Helicopter World Cup 2018, this final competition was a challenging showdown with 27 crews from 5 countries - Austria, Belarus, Poland, Russia and Ukraine – competing in General and Masters classes.

Acro World Tour 2018: Théo de Blic crowned King of Brenta

Huge crowds gathered along the shore of Lake Molveno, Italy, this weekend, to witness the incredible acro stunts performed by the elite paragliders battling in the skies to win the second stage of the Acro World Tour 2018.

It was Théo de Blic (FRA) who managed to impress judges the most with his jaw-dropping performance, beating Chile’s Victor Carrera and fellow Frenchman François Ragolski to be crowned King of Brenta 2018.

Class 1 European and Class 5 World Hang Gliding Champions 2018

20th FAI European Hang gliding Class 1 and 8th FAI World Hang Gliding Class 5 Championships have come to an end and we congratulate the winners. 125 pilots from 26 nations competed in the sky of FYR Macedonia for these prestigious titles. The event ran for 14 days with 8 valid tasks, none of which was stopped. The organisers cared a lot to provide all the expertise to make competition flying long, various and challenging. The place though was familiar to the competitors due to test event and previous HG Words and Europeans held 2 years before here.

FAI and Freespace Drone Racing in new three-year drone sports agreement

FAI and Australian giant drone racing team Freespace Drone Racing have agreed to extend their coordinated efforts in the development of drone racing as a global sport.

The two organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding that recognises the significant progress made by each party and outlines a three-year plan to integrate two giant drone classes into the FAI drone racing calendar.

Taking off soon: The LeaseWeb Texel Airshow 2018!

Texel, the largest of the Wadden Islands in North Holland, the Netherlands is a natural gem known for its 30km of sandy beaches. But on Saturday August 4, all eyes will be on the skies as the Leaseweb Texel Airshow 2018 flies into town!

Now sponsored by official FAI partner Leaseweb, the event is held every three years and has been running since 1980, making this the 12th edition.

Acro World Tour 2018: Stage 2 King of Brenta

Against the backdrop of the dramatic Dolomite mountains and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Molveno, aerobatic paragliders from all over the world will battle in the skies to be crowned ‘King of Brenta’ at the Acro World Tour’s 2nd stage, being held from 18-22 July 2018.

At this stage of the Acro World Tour 2018 competition, around 30 riders from 10 nations will perform aerobatic manoeuvres then attempt to make the most spectacular landing they can onto a floating platform in the lake.
