A piece of ballooning memorabilia has crossed continents to take up a new residence in the FAI Secretariat offices in Lausanne. The clock – decorated with a golden balloon on the glass casing – is a symbol of the firm friendship between two American balloon pilots, who also travelled to Switzerland during the ballooning careers: it was gifted by Connie Wolf to Tony Fairbanks, and has been donated to FAI by Tony's son, Michael, a balloon pilot and historian.
The World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) List of Prohibited Substances and Methods has been updated. The updated list came into force on 1 January 2023.
The FAI General Air Sport Commission (CASI) has made an extensive revision of the FAI General Section of the Sporting Code as well as creating a new Disciplinary Code. These two documents took effect on 1 January 2023.

This year’s German-French Balloon Kids Camp took place in Sonnenbühl, Germany with a total of 19 participants aged 8 to 14 from Germany and France.
In those tense moments as the World Championship Air Race pilots wait to cross the chequered start gate, all eyes will be on the Race Director to give the “Smoke On” signal… The planes will then start to emit streams of smoke, and once they cross the start line, engines and audience will roar as the pilots navigate the course’s twists and turns.
