The FAI Astronautic Records Commission (ICARE) has released a new logo design. The Commission was originally founded in 1960 to appraise and ratify human spaceflight records, and with this new logo, the bureau aims to encapsulate a new era in space exploration.
The FAI conducted a site visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last weekend in preparation for the 118th FAI General Conference, which is set to take place from 19 to 21 November 2024 in Riyadh.
In 1988, thirty champion skydivers dressed in blue, black, red, yellow and green, jumped from a Chinook helicopter, made an Olympic Ring formation above the city of Seoul and landed in the Olympic Stadium as part of the Games’ Opening Ceremony. Among them was French skydiver Philippe Schorno.

The 2024 CIAM Plenary Meeting took place in Lausanne from 12 to 13 April. It was the first time the meeting had been held in person since 2019. The format was slightly different as all the Technical Meetings were organised before the Plenary using Zoom, which enabled more interested persons to participate; therefore, the Plenary was attended mostly by the Delegates.
It was an election year, and after the vote, most of the Bureau members from the previous two years retained their positions:
