Flying Area
Starting from Trasaghis, on a comfortable street through the woods, we reach our take-off runway. It’s located on the south mountainside at a height of 1180 meters; from there you can have a beautiful sight of Bordano village, of Tagliamento river and of “3 Comuni” Lake, where the landing area is sited (on the west shore). Take off runway is wide and grassy: there’s a little tableland from which slope soon starts. This is a flying area for all kind of pilots, from beginners to experts and offers good conditions both for soaring and thermal flying, especially during summer. Flying is allowed with the south wind.
Take off runway D02 (mount San Simeone) and landing area A07 (west shore of the lake) will be used.
- Take-off direction: South (SE – SW)
- Height above valley 1000 meters
- Grass area with a little tableland.
- Number of ramps: 2
- No hazards
- Facilities: car park, shade (gazebo), water.
- Height above water when reaching the flying “box”: 700-800 meters.
A raft on the lake (at about 100 meters from the shore) will be prepared too.
A safety landing place, Prato A04, is situated 800 meters south from A07.
