Nicolas Bideau
After studies at the University of Lausanne and graduating in Political Science and a diploma of postgraduate studies in history and civilization from Academy of Social Science Paris, France, Nicolas Bideau spent three years in Beijing, China, to complete his postgraduate studies at the University of Beijing. From 2000 to 2002 he worked for the Political Affairs section at the Swiss embassy in New Delhi, India, and Asian Affairs division upon his return to Switzerland.
In 2003 he was appointed diplomatic advisor to the President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA). He then became Head of the center of expertise for foreign cultural policy in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). From 2005 to 2010 he was the Head of the film department in the FDHA. Since 2011 he has been the Head of Presence Switzerland in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Presence Switzerland is responsible for the image of Switzerland abroad, and implements the strategy of the Swiss Federal Council on Switzerland’s communication abroad.
