The world’s top aerobatic gliding pilots compete in Leszno, Poland
Famed for its excellent gliding conditions, and the only place in Europe to feature night gliding, Leszno is a popular spot in the aviation world, especially as it is alone in having held the World World Gliding Championships four times (1958, 1968, 2003, 2014).
Pilots from 10 countries – Austria, Italy, FAS Russia, Czech Republic, Romania, France, Poland, Hungary, USA – were warmly welcomed at the Leszno airfield and hosted by the Polish Aero Club between 28 July and 8 August 2021.
Two FAI competitions were held:
- Unlimited Glider (UG) - 23rd FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championships
- Advanced Glider (AG) - 11th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championships.
