Air sports extravaganza: the 2019 FAI World Fly-in Expo
More than 700 pilots descended on Wuhan, China for the 2019 FAI World Fly-in Expo (WFE), which began on 18 May at the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone in the city’s Hannan District.
First held in 2017, this second edition of the four-day international air sports extravaganza included world-class aerobatic displays, two air sports events, and both indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
FAI President of Honour John Grubbström represented the Federation at the WFE. He also gave a welcome speech at the Opening Ceremony, in which he described the city of Wuhan as an excellent example of how to successfully combine the aviation industry and the air sports world.
Congratulations to local organisers the Aero Sports Federation of China - an FAI Member, the Wuhan Municipal Government and Hubei Province Sports Bureau, the Wuhan Development Zone Committee (Hannan District Government), and the Wuhan Sports Bureau for putting on another fantastic event.
