Day 1: 25 August 2014

There is so much to accomplish today with it being the official arrival day for delegations, so there's registration to complete, official practice jumps to cram in, as well as the Opening Ceremony plus the draw! Not a lot of time left to do much else. Despite an earlier forecast of poor weather, the first jumpers are already in the air.

With the advent of the 1st World Cup in Speed Skydiving it's likely to draw considerable interest. None of the 17 competitors entered into this exciting new discipline, are from outside of Europe - but it's a new sport on the World's skydiving stage.

Marco Wiederkehr (SUI) is one of the competitors in the 1st World Cup of Speed Skydiving, with a remarkable personal best speed of 531.42 kph.
