The 8th FAI European Paragliding Accuracy Championships have launched in Gjirokaster, Albania. It is organized by the “Albania Open Air” club on behalf of the “Albanian Air Sports Federation” - the NAC of Albania. The event will be held from Oct 4 to Oct 12, 2024. 100 pilots from 22 countries (including 2 guest countries)  - in total 81 men and 19 women - came to compete in Gjirokaster.
The event began with Category 1 Judges training carried out by the chief judge of the event, followed by participants' on-site registration.

The opening ceremony and parade occurred the next day in the old town center. The event's main organizers are Alket Islami and Xhonatan Islami from “Albania Open Air". The meet director is Zlatko Spirkoski (MKD), the chief judge is Koung Young Park (KOR) and the event judge is Shakira Azman (MAS). The FAI Steward is Igor Erzen (SLO) and the FAI Jury consists of President Andrew Cowley (GBR) and 2 members: Thomas Senac (FRA) and Ivan Lukanov (MKD).

The take-off method is a winch. The pilot will compete in the Overall, Female, Junior, and National teams categories.
The first round was set on October 6th as planned.  From the start the competitors set a high level - the first place was a tie of 3 pilots who made "Zeros", and the next place was a tie of 7 pilots who made 1 cm only. The first today to hit "bull's-eye" was a young Spanish pilot Victor Aguilera Lozano.
