FAI Young Artists Contest: discover the artworks from Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities
Earlier this year, a special entry for the FAI Young Artists Contest was received by the judging panel: a group of artists affiliated to the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities submitted seven artworks to the competition via the Qatar Air Sports Committee. The artists represented Pakistan, Egypt, Oman, Syria and Qatar.
The FAI Young Artists Contest is open to creative youngsters from around the world, to encourage them to explore the topics of flight, aviation and adventure through art. Each year, FAI Member countries organise a national competition, selecting the best entries from all the artworks submitted. These go through to a final judging process in which the top nine artworks (top three in the three age categories) are decided.
In 2024, the FAI Secretariat received a letter from the Qatar Air Sports Committee along with seven artworks from young people affiliated to the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities who had produced paintings and drawings exploring the theme of ‘Air Sports for a Peaceful World’.
The artists, all born in 2008 or 2009, were from Pakistan, Egypt, Oman, Syria and Qatar. Their pictures are full of colour and energy, representing balloons, aeroplanes, and skydivers.
FAI warmly congratulates these artists for their beautiful interpretations of the theme, and extends special thanks to them and the Shafallah Centre for supporting this project.
