FAI Annual Report 2017 available now

The latest edition of the FAI Annual Report, which summarises the FAI’s activities throughout 2017, is available now.

As in previous years, the 2017 report contains details about the year’s major competitions, new world records, and, of course, the amazing achievements of air sports athletes from around the world.

In it, you will also find information about the decisions taken at the FAI General Conference, and the hard work being done by the FAI officials, volunteers and head office, together with its partners, to bring the exhilaration of competitive air sports to more people than ever before.

FAI President Frits Brink said: “I am delighted to make the FAI Annual Report 2017 available to the public.

“I hope you enjoy reading it, and look forward to hearing any feedback you wish to share with us.”

About the Annual Report 2017

The year 2017 was a busy and exciting one for FAI competitions, including The World Games in Poland, at which three air sports featured for the very first time.

Ranging from longstanding, strategic competitions such as the Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett to the adrenaline-filled Red Bull Air Race World Championships, these events allowed our Members and partners to display the beauty of air sports in a wide variety of locations.

Other focuses for the report include the growth of air sports in Asia, and the booming sport of drone racing – for which the Federation organised a number of events such as the first-ever FAI International Drones Conference and Expo, and the second edition of the FAI Drone Racing World Cup.

There is also a section on forthcoming events such as the 2018 Asian Games, the FAI World Air Games in Turkey in 2020.
