EC & WC Prostejov 2012 - Award Ceremony

Friday 31st August

The Award Ceremony got underway with a huge sense of fun and friendliness - both of which have been the abiding impression of this World Meet - those who made the effort to enter and be there had a great time, new friendships were made and old ones cemented.  The organisers had provided the competitors with a room full of baloons!  for the closing ceremony.    The speeches were kept short and thanks were paid by all to the organisers, their staff and volunteer workers who made sure all ran smoothly.  Thanks were also given to Ted Wagner of OmniSkore!HD for his judging system - the judges really appreciated the high quality of image they had -  there can be no going back.   Neils-Christian Leven Hansen, FAI Controller, thanked everyone, but most of all the competitors, without whom there would be no competition.

Before the medal giving ceremony for each event we were treated to a short video of the medal winners performance, which impressed the dignatories present and really set the scene.

After the prize-giving was over, a special presentation was made by the Meet Director, Martin Dlouhy, on behalf of the Town and Drop Zone Prostejov, to the other team from BELGIUM, Thunder - who had entered the competition without understanding the rules properly and so had to withdraw (see article on Why you should Read the Rules).  They had achieved a points score of 199 at the point of withdrawal and their scores are posted as a Guest Team.

Then the party began, and continued through the night (for some competitors).

My thanks to Fay Kimble for her hard work in helping put these reports and pictures together and to Petr Podrouzek for his Videos - (follow the link at the top of the page - or here or on our dedicated Video's page) - to Ted Wagner of OmniSkore!HD for providing us with an instantly updated results service and to both the Chief Judges, Karla Cole and Aliya Ananina for their help and support.
