3d Pan-American Test event – safe, fun and fair!

3d Pan-American Test event and Brazilian Open 1st round has just finished at Baixo Guandu (Brazil). There were 122 pilots taking part in the competition. Rampa do Monjulo was the meet take off. The event ran for 7 days and had 3 valid tasks of 77, 59 and 72 km.

The other days we cancelled due to strong wind and unfavourable weather conditions. The organizers offered a lot of entertaining activities including BBQ, pool, soccer and ping-pong. So the Test event was a success.

Mitch Shipley, FAI Steward, reports: “ We had three good (950+ point) days. The meet organization was a well oiled machine that gave the pilots a great meet. The weather could have been better, but that is always the risk. We also met goal #1 for a "Safe, fun and fair" meet. No injuries! Also fun and fair”.
