Aeromodelling
Indoor Aerobatics
DANCING ON AIR
Carlos Andres Leoni’s (ITA) F3Pmodel captured
mid-flight. Indoor Aeromodelling was the first
event to take place in Dubai, and one of the
most public as it took place on an ice rink
inside the enormous Dubail Mall. Thousands
of shoppers stopped to watch, entranced by
what they were seeing.
ALL IN THE MIND
Aeromodelling is an exacting discipline. It’s
very technical to make the models for a start,
and controlling them takes precision and care.
To make the plane ‘dance’ each surface has its
own control servo.“You need to put a lot of your
mind into it,” eventual Gold medallist Donatas
Pauzuolis said. Pictured is Dennis Heskamp
from Germany.
